The Clerk to the Governing Body is Mrs Diana Riley.
The main roles of the Governing Body are:-

To provide a strategic view, focus on the key issues of raising standards of achievement, establishing high expectations and promoting effective teaching and learning.

To act as a critical friend, provide the headteacher and staff with support, advice and information, drawing on it members’ knowledge and experience.

At Croft Infant School, our full governing board meets every half term. Throughout the year we hold a minimum of 5 formal meetings where governors focus on key areas of school such as school improvement, finance and resources and teaching and learning (including data analysis).
The Chair of Governors form the Head Teacher Performance Management Committee, along with our LA advisor.

INSTRUMENT OF GOVERNMENT - November 2020
The name of the school is Croft Infant School.
The school is a Community school.
The name of the governing body is "The governing body of Croft Infant School”.
The governing body shall consist of:-
- 3 parent governors.
- 1 LA governor.
- 1 staff governor.
- 1 Headteacher.
- 3 co-opted governors
Total number of governors is 9.
The term of office of all governors is 4 years.
This Instrument of Government comes into effect on the day on which it was made, replacing the Instrument of Government made on 11 November 2014.
This Instrument was made by order of Derbyshire Local Authority on 2 November 2020.
A copy of the Instrument of Government must be supplied to every member of the governing body (and the Headteacher if not a governor).
